Fundraising is a great way to make a difference and show that you are against bullying.  Raising money for Beatbullying helps us train more young people become CyberMentors and help more young people affected by bullying.

Here’s some cool ideas to get you started:

Get sponsored to forfeit your favourite thing, like chocolate, tv or even texting!

  • Do a sponsored walk
  • Shhhhh! Do a sponsored silence and be quiet for an hour or even a whole day!

In fact, you can get sponsored to do pretty much anything!
But, if you decide to do something sponsored, don’t forget to create a JustGiving page and send all of your friends the link to make getting sponsorship that much easier - justgiving.co.uk.

Events are a good way of getting lots of people involved, are great fun, and can be really good fundraisers!

  • For example, you could hold a talent contest – BB’s Got Talent!  Sell tickets to your show and wow the audience with your talents!  Or put on a gig like Ellie Coleman (see her slide).  We can also help you with your event ideas.  Give Rebecca a call on 020 8768 1029 for a chat, or you can email her on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Loads of schools have done some great fundraising for Beatbullying and CyberMentors over the past few years.

  • Get your school or college to hold a fancy dress day, or ask everyone to wear blue, and ask everyone to pay £1.
  • Take over the tuck shop and donate the profits to Beatbullying.
  • Why not hold an event, or a sponsored activity and get your school involved?
  • Or ask around – there might already be some good fundraising activities that you can use to donate money to BB.

It’s also best to get the approval of your Head of Year before starting out any fundraising for BB. If you email Rebecca ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ), she can help you sort out some ideas and plot the best way for you to approach your teachers.

Getting your community involved in fundraising is also really cool.

  • Ask for a donation by offering to do some hard work: car washing, gardening, dog walking, pet sitting, or even doing the washing up!
  • Hold a garage sale, etc.

BB has just launched a big recycling drive!  Collect ink and laser cartridges, and mobile phones, and we receive money for each one you collect and send in.   Do it by yourself, or better still, get your school involved!
To register with our scheme and get the bags to send off your cartridges and phones visit www.eachonecounts.co.uk/beatbullying

Ellie Coleman was just 14 when she organized a gig in her home town and raised a whopping £1,000 for Beatbullying!   With the help of a promotions company she found some amazing bands and put them on stage at Norwich Arts Centre, charging people to come and watch.

Ellie said: “Organising the event for Beatbullying was great because I knew I was doing my bit to help a fantastic cause.  I had worked with them before so I knew that the money raised from the gig would go directly into teaching more kids about the effects of bullying and how to deal with it.  I wanted to help Beatbullying because I’d been bullied when I was younger and I don’t want it happening to others. It was really good fun and I’m glad I helped raise so much money!”
